hmm casino in singapore..long time ago, the govt played n toyed ard wid d idea. but due to the society n culture, they decide to forgo it. it came out again when economy was down. but once again govt was against it. den finally the decision was made...casino is OK in singapore. Request For ConceptsSO we decided that as a first step, we would initiate a Request For Concepts (RFC). This is a process whereby interested bidders would present concept proposals for the IR. The concept proposals are not binding offers and the government is not obliged to proceed with the project after the RFC. The purpose is to give the government a clearer idea of what is possible. If the RFC showed that the idea of IR was not viable, or that investors were only interested in opening gambling joints, then the government would say 'no'. But if the RFC proved that the IR is viable, and that investors are keen to build high-quality IRs here, then we could weigh the clear economic benefits against the social costs and intangible factors, and make an informed decision one way or other.

The IRs are an important step forward, but it is only one of many things we must do to remake our city and build a new Singapore. This is a larger task, and one which requires the commitment and efforts of all Singaporeans. Let us continue to work closely together to realise this vision, and make ours a vibrant and dynamic city in Asia. (

hmm yah i hope better job prospects for me then wen i do get back in spore...get some more experience..den can help pioneer the setup of the convention centre or hotel there...in either one of the integrated resorts..haha funny i jus feel like ive written like an essay for sch...anyway, after reading the whole article, i guess its possible to have IR. tourism in singapore is really goin down. in fact back in 2000, wen i decide to take dip in tourism, alot of people were against it. hopefully wid d new govt now, they wil reli look into it...its one of the main generating factors in economy.. if no tourist comes, airport will loose bisnes, thus lose its reputation in the world..so does the s'pore port though its not directly linked to the tourism industry but lookin on the aerial view, manufacturing n other industries r effected by tourism....but not sure abt having 2 of them though...alto it creates opportunities for employment which is a threat to singapore now...but it mite be too big or ambitious for spore at the moment...well im sure the govt has weighed the pros n cons...hmmm tourism planning is not an easy task man...it sure takes a lot of work n strategies..which ive always think tat spore is not lackin in tat section...wah now i reli feels like im writing an essay sei...ahaha mayb i shud take up a resort subject next sem for my elective eh...to help me prepare for future...let me c....
